About

Outdoor Careers is where you can find out what you need to know about a career in the outdoors industry, including information about jobs and training, from qualified industry professionals who have already made a success in the industry; from indoor and outdoor climbing instructors, to rope access technicians, centre managers, park rangers and more.

Why?

The government has drastically cut back its careers information services, both online and in person.  This means that information is hard to find, not always accurate and can be misleading. We feel it is vitally important that young people and adults can get a true picture of the outdoor industry – the highs, the lows, the realities, the amazing opportunities. More than anything, we want to share our passion for the outdoors.

Who?

At Outdoor Careers, the information you see is provided by industry professionals. These submissions are painstakingly collated, validated and uploaded by a highly experienced and qualified career guidance counsellor, Emily Pitts. Since 2001, Emily has supported thousands of adults and young people in their career journey, working in schools, colleges and university.  With proven success, you can trust that you will receive the very best impartial information. Emily isn’t just a career counsellor, she is also a qualified climbing instructor and founder of Womenclimb, so she knows a bit about the outdoors too.  The passion she has for helping people achieve their goals and her love of the outdoors have led to the development of Outdoor Careers.  Find out more about Emily on LinkedIn and if you want to see what people say after a session with Emily?
